Similar books: I'm not too sure, yes it has vampire's in it, but the storyline is very different to any other I have read.

Now don't you hate it when a blurb has next to nothing to do with the actual story??
Cover: hm... I don't really like this one. I'm guessing the neck and torso and chin and hair bits is Lucy since even though their is a bit about Solange the majority of the story is about Lucy and you also get from the blurb that the main worry is whether Lucy can resist Nick, but then as I just stated the blurb had shit all to do with the book. I think the cartoon heart on Lucy's neck is a little tacky. I think it would have looked cooler if it was real blood and it was in the shape of a heart with the trickle. Teaming all that with the title "My Love Lies Bleeding" gave me the impression when I first bought it was that it was another el lamo attempt to score some money off Twilight's vamp height. I mean come on the phrase on the front "How do you resist a vampire's kiss?"...
So the blurb... The first paragraph is true about everything dangerous happening because of Solange. Either the vampire's want to breed with her or kill her (particulary Lady-wishes-she-was-Queen Natasha). There is this prophecy that a girl born to the Drake family will rule so Lady Natasha has put a bounty on her head.
However I hate the second paragraph I have no idea why its there. "When she is kidnapped it is up to her elder brother, Nicholas, and best friend, Lucy, to save her" they do jack shit in the book! I guess whoever wrote the blurb was trying to make it sound really epic and interesting, but after reading the book they didn't need to.
At first I thought the book was a bit of a snore, but when I got into it I found it wasn't that bad. Its not a lame copy of Twilight, yet the vampires are very tame. Well the Drakes are. I found Lucy's relationship to the Drakes very interesting. They are pretty much her second family, but not because she with one of the guys (At the start). She's Solange's best friend.
The Drake Chronciles is a vampire series with multiple types of vampires. There are the normal ones like the Drakes, the Hell-Blair which to me sound like pixies who drink blood, Montmartre's vampires and his rouge creations. I'm still not sure about the types of vampires, that bit was a little confusing.
Oh and I don't think they ever mention whether they drink human blood or animal. I know they say after the bloodchange (kinda like how in HON humans are marked) its better to have human blood for a better chance of survival, but they never actually say what they drink; human or animal.
All in all it was an ok book. I'll happily read the rest of the series (:
